Tuesday's Competition Battler's Prize - October Winner

Congratulations to SEAN CHAPMAN who took out the Tuesday Comp Battler's Prize for the month of October. SEAN played steady golf throughout the month and picked up enough points in the last round to sneak past third round leaders JOHN ROBERTS and TERRY ROBINSON to take the prize with a slender one point margin. Well done Sean! Full result and scores can be viewed on the notice boards in the club and near the pro shop.

For those Tuesday players not familiar with the Battler's Prize competition, details are as follows:

For participants in the men's 9 hole Tuesday competition each week (single stableford games only), there is a Battler's Prize awarded to one player every month until November 2021.

However, anyone who actually wins one of the Tuesday comps is ineligible for the Battler's Prize in the month of his win (that's why we call it the Battler's Prize - it sounds better than running a comp for the losers).

Points are awarded as follows every Tuesday on which a single stableford competition is held:

5 points each for the 2 players who finish 2nd and 3rd.
4 points each for the 3 players who finish 4th, 5th, and 6th.
3 points each for the 3 players who finish 7th, 8th and 9th.
2 points each for the 4 players who finish 10th, 11th, 12th , and 13th.

The winner of the Battler's Prize will be the player who has accrued the most Battler's Prize points during the relevant month.

In the event of a tied number of Battler's Prize points at the end of the month, count back rules will apply which may involve stableford points scored (i.e. it can get down to last game of the month, or even last hole of the month).
