Course Corner - So Many Things To Get Done!
Hi again from Course Corner - I promise we will have another video soon, but there is so much going on it is hard to find time to make one!
In fact, there has been so much going on, this course corner is going to resort to dot points to list all the stuff.
8th hole
- Path edging near completion - Deco paths being laid this week
- Installation of rocks to drain 80% complete - works at either end to be finalised to increase visual appeal.
- Bridge renovation 75% complete - New rails and approach plates installed
- Fairways cut down to playing height - shapes fully cut in as per design (Increased grass density needed prior to play!)
- New path around green cut - old path decommissioned and path from 1st tee edged
- New concrete kerb installed at new tee to control water flowing from 6th hole
- Planting commenced near current par 3 tee. Creek bank planting and maintenance near complete.
5th Hole
- New concrete kerb along 5th dam installed for better flood control
Tree works
- Removal of dead trees near 11th green and general maintenance of other trees in this area.
- Removal of overhanging Chinese Elm over 12th tee
- Trimming of 10th tee block RHS trees next to tee to allow better use of RHS of tee
- Reshaping of corner tree on 16 to allow easier access to fairway for more players
- Trimming of low branches on LHS of 16th fairway to help improve turf quality
- Removal of Tipuana on 4th LHS 70m from green - Pest Species damaging turf in landing zone
- Removal of African Tulip on 7th LHS
There are probably more things that have happened that I am completely forgetting!
James and the course team, with massive assistance from our faithful volunteers, are making great steps forward across the course, and if the comments we get from both our members and guests are anything to go by, everyone is enjoying Ashgrove and loving the presentation and changes.

Thats pretty much it from Course Corner for now, but I will leave you with 2 things to look forward to......
1 - Course Signage! We are getting close to having our new signage ready, with great opportunities for members who want to sponsor a hole coming soon!
2 - 17th top tee replacement...... The order for a new tee block is going in this week. We have looked long and hard at this, and we think you will be happy with the results.
